Glowing Skin Is Always In

Having beautiful, clear looking skin is every girl’s dream. Not having to wear makeup but letting your skin shine through. I’m going to share my current skin care routine that has really helped me and which I hope can help you too.

To start things off I wash my face with Epiwash cleansing bar soap. How I discovered it was through a Dermatologist. I’ve always had dry irritated skin and this caused a rash on my face. I began using this product every day along with the same brand face cream. In my time of using the two products I realised that the rash never went away but I continued using them for some reason although I was not satisfied. I later decided to stop using the facial cream and opted for something else. I still used the cleansing soap because it is formulated for hyper-allergenic patients like myself. It’s made of pure glycerine and palm kernel oil and contains no perfumes or colourants that can be harsh to the skin. It has a pH balance that does not irritate the skin or dry it out. This cleanser is so gentle that it’s safe to use on babies and it acts as a makeup remover as well. It is suitable for washing hair and men can shave with this product. As I mentioned earlier, I still use the cleansing soap today so I had to look for another face cream and this is what I found…

Last year my mother introduced me to this product. She uses it herself so I thought I should try it out. This product is Olay, I use the Olay Complete day cream for normal or dry skin and it contains 24 hour hydration + SPF 15 + Vitamins B3, E and Pro-V B5 and the Olay Double Action night cream for sensitive skin. The Complete day cream protects the skin as it is exposed to environmental aggressors such as UV rays, they don’t just stop on the skin’s surface but go deep into the skin. The SolaSheer multi-layer UV system in the cream helps to protect each and every surface layer of your skin while the vitamins help to improve the texture of the skin leaving it smooth and nourished allowing for that inner glow to pop. The Double Action night cream acts as giving your skin a break, it still nourishes the skin during the night, it helps replace moisture that was lost during the day, it improves the skin’s surface capacity to retain moisture for longer and it is fragrance free and colour free to care for sensitive skin. With the night cream you wake up with soft skin every day. Just using face creams was not enough so I later discovered these cute face masks from Clicks (I have featured them on my Instagram so you can go check that out) they are so affordable and they help to further cleanse the skin. My current favourite mask is…

The L’Oreal pure clay mask. L’Oreal recently launched 3 of their face masks, the pure clay purity mask, the pure clay detox mask and the pure clay glow mask so I just had to get at least one and I got the detox mask. This mask contains charcoal so it helps to detoxify and illuminate the skin making it look brighter. The charcoal acts as a magnet to pull deep into the skin to remove dirt, oil and pollution in the skin’s pores. The formula is creamy and applies so smoothly. It helps to revitalise dull, tired looking skin giving you a radiant glow. The skin breathes better and looks absolutely beautiful. You apply it on a clean face and leave it on for 10 minutes, please avoid the eyes and lips! Then you simply rinse and apply cream. You should use it 2-3 times a week. I really love this product, you can apply it with your fingers or a brush if you want to be fancy. I was scared of using clay masks thinking that it would dry out my skin but this does not. I have oily skin so this helps to draw out excess oils on my skin. I apply it just before bed but you can apply it in the morning as well to give yourself that boost.

All of these products together work so well with my skin. Since I began using the mask my skin has never been so clear, smooth and bright. Let’s not forget the salt method, you can read about that in more detail in my previous blog post ‘Of All Tastes, Salt’. You can find the Epiwash soap at Dis-Chem, I buy the Olay creams and L’Oreal pure clay mask at Clicks.
